The distinction that matters
A learning management system is usually bought to assign courses, record completion, and report attendance. A learning experience platform is expected to do that and also help a person find the next relevant step, often with paths, skills, and manager visibility. The labels overlap in vendor marketing. Judge the workflow, not the acronym.
